Salt Lake City, UT -- Utah Republican Party Chair Rob Axson, National Committeeman Brad Bonham and National Committeewoman Kim Coleman released the following statement about their collective endorsement of Senator Rick Scott for Senate Majority Leader:

Last Tuesday, we all saw what putting America and her people first secured for our country. Namely, the United States has a unique opportunity to improve the future for Americans and the world substantially. We commend President Donald Trump for his fearless commitment to being bold and consistent in fighting for a vision of American success.

As Utah’s three members of the RNC, we have had a front-row seat, seeing all of the sacrifice and effort given by countless Americans to help match the passion and promise of our nominee. It has been a privilege for us to help play the part we could by winning races here in Utah and by mustering additional support, volunteers, and resources to be deployed to Arizona and Nevada in promotion of President Trump and our fellow Republicans.

We now have a moment where the American people have entrusted the Republican Party and Donald Trump to deliver on the promises made. This will take a resolve not often found in the modern-day bickering of Washington, DC. Our future will reflect the choices made these next few years to meet our country's many challenges.

We believe that the United States Senate will play a unique role in helping deliver the mandate Americans have entrusted to President Trump. To do this, the Republican Caucus Leadership must exhibit bold, innovative policies and courageous conviction. While each of the Senators who have put forth their names is a decent man who will support Trump's agenda, Senator Scott stands uniquely in his ability to match the moment and be the partner President Trump deserves.

On behalf of the Utah Republican Party and the countless Utahns demanding Congressional support for the President-Elect for whom they have overwhelmingly voted, We Endorse Senator Rick Scott. We encourage his colleagues to turn a page from the past and to vote for the bold and innovative change this moment of history requires—and what President Trump has earned.
