Utah Valley University – UCCU Center

April 25, 2025

800 W University Pkwy, Orem, UT 84058

This year’s Nominating Convention is focused on selecting the Utah Republican Party’s nominees for the upcoming election. As a state delegate, you will vote to determine the Party’s nominees for key offices including: U.S. House of Representatives, State Senate, State House of Representatives, and State Board of Education.

In addition to selecting our party nominees, delegates will be asked to vote on proposed constitution amendments, resolutions, bylaw amendments, and platform amendments; these are all linked on the agenda for your review. These items directly influence how our Party functions and are essential to maintaining a clear, organized, and principled structure. We encourage you to review all candidate materials and proposed business in advance so you can participate fully at the convention.

In the final two weeks before convention, candidates may contact you through your provided contact information. We hope you'll visit with them, attend events, and explore their candidate websites. These resources will help you make informed decisions about who you believe is best suited to lead our party forward.

Learn More About Your Candidates

If you are unable to attend the convention on April 25th, you must contact your precinct chair or county party leadership immediately to arrange an alternate delegate to vote in your place. The deadline for counties to submit any delegate changes is Monday, April 20, at 5:00 p.m. Please reach out to your county party leadership by April 19th. This ensures that every precinct has full representation and that your community continues to have a voice in the Party's leadership and structure.

We look forward to seeing you at the UCCU Center on April 25th. Don't miss the Parking & Transportation Guide provided at the end of this email. Thank you for your dedication, leadership, and continued commitment to the Utah Republican Party.

Breakout Sessions

Breakout sessions will take place throughout the day, beginning at 8:00 AM. All delegates should review the official 2026 convention agenda in advance to understand when their assigned breakout sessions occur, as well as the timing and location of voting.

Each delegate’s specific breakout assignment will be printed on the back of their credential at check-in. This will indicate where they need to go for their session. Please see the venue diagram to better navigate the UCCU Center. Additional signage will be posted throughout the venue on the day of the event.

Attendance at breakout sessions is essential. These sessions are where delegates will participate in voting for candidates for state house, state senate, state school board, and congressional races. Delegates should plan accordingly to ensure they arrive on time and are present for all required voting activities.

Please remember to bring a pen to fill out your ballots.

Credentialing

Credentialing will open at 7:00 AM at the north-east corner of the UCCU Center. To help ensure an efficient and smooth check-in process, delegates are encouraged to plan their arrival time based on their first scheduled breakout session.

Delegates should aim to arrive approximately one hour before their first breakout session. Those assigned to 8:00 AM sessions are encouraged to arrive early to allow enough time to credential and participate fully in voting.

If your first breakout session is later in the morning, please be mindful of those with earlier assignments and allow them priority access to credentialing lines during peak times. Staggering arrival times will help reduce congestion and keep lines moving efficiently for everyone.

All delegates must be credentialed before participating in breakout sessions and voting. A valid ID is required to complete credentialing, so please arrive prepared with proper identification.

Registration

We have worked closely with the county Republican parties throughout Utah to create the official delegate list for convention, and each delegate will receive a credential to qualify them to vote and participate at convention. This year we are also requiring that non-delegate guests register so that we are able to adequately account for them in our convention seating and plans. Non-delegate registration supports our goal to provide better security and safety for our Republican party members in attendance. Any non-delegate guests (friends or family members of delegates or candidates), booth workers, volunteers, etc. must register in order to attend convention this year. You may click the button below to register or send the following link to anyone who may still need to register: utgop.org/2026_state_nominating_convention

Delegate guests must register by April 20.

Most state parties charge delegates to attend state convention. While we do not, the cost of convention is large and we want to have the resources to win this election cycle. We recommend a donation of at least $20 per delegate.

Booth Space Available – Nonprofits, Advocacy Groups & Vendors

We have a few booths still available for candidates, elected officials, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, and vendors. These booths offer a great opportunity to connect with delegates and share your mission or message. If you or your organization are interested in participating, please email [email protected].

Delegate Agreement Standards

As a state delegate, you are expected to remain engaged and informed throughout your term. Please ensure that your contact information—email, phone number, and home address—is accurate and updated with your precinct chair so that you continue receiving important communications from the Party and candidates. You should check your messages regularly and review all materials sent to you in preparation for the convention.

Delegates are asked to attend official events leading up to the convention, whether in person or virtually, and to take time to review all candidate information and proposed business items. We ask that you come prepared to vote and to represent your precinct responsibly.

If you are unable to attend the convention, it is your duty to contact your precinct chair as soon as possible so that an alternate may be appointed. Alternate delegate submissions must be received no later than Monday, April 20 at 5:00 p.m. If you cannot attend the convention, please contact your county party leadership by April 19.

We hope you'll also take the opportunity to engage your neighbors, hold discussions on the issues, and foster respectful dialogue within your community. Building relationships with other delegates and elected leaders only strengthens our shared efforts.
