ARTICLE V: State Executive Committee

Powers

The State Executive Committee stands as a cornerstone of the State Central Committee, wielding essential powers to guide the Utah Republican Party towards its goals and objectives. Charged with strategic decision-making and operational oversight, this committee plays a pivotal role in shaping the party's direction and ensuring its effective functioning.

Membership

The State Executive Committee comprises distinguished individuals who embody the spirit of Republican leadership and commitment to our party's principles. Voting members include:

  • State Party Chair
  • State Party Vice-Chair
  • State Party Secretary
  • State Party Treasurer
  • Chair of the Constitution and Bylaws Committee
  • Chair of the Audit Committee
  • National Committeeman
  • National Committeewoman
  • Two Congressional District Representatives from each congressional district, elected from the Central Committee members
  • Additionally, elected Republican officials such as the Governor, U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative, and the Republican leaders in the Utah House and Senate serve as voting members.
  • Republican U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives may designate a voting representative to attend meetings in their absence.
  • The Lieutenant Governor may attend and vote in the absence of the Governor.

Non-voting members include the Presidents or Chairs of any organization designated as Party Auxiliary by the State Central Committee.

Quorum

To ensure the effective conduct of business, the State Executive Committee requires a quorum, defined as a majority of its voting members. This ensures that decisions made by the committee are representative and binding, reflecting the collective will of its members.
