Carlos A. Moreno is a candidate for Salt Lake County Council in District 2 where he seeks to represent the communities of Copperton, Herriman, Kearns, Magna, South Jordan, West Jordan and West Valley City. He is the official candidate of the Republican Party and is endorsed by the Independent American Party.

Carlos is a proud American, and as a member of the Salt Lake County Council, he will fight for the West Side. Originally an immigrant and political asylee from Venezuela, he earned U.S. citizenship in October 2022. In America, he and his wife have discovered miracles of America like “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

Carlos works as a community outreach representative for a national energy management consulting company in the western United States. Additionally, he and his wife own a small business in West Jordan. Carlos’s advocacy and service to the community have earned him recognition and love, especially on the West Side of Salt Lake County in the state of Utah. He is the father of three boys: Carlos Isaias, Carlos Rodrigo, and Carlos Luciano. As a survivor of socialism, Carlos is a conservative by conviction. The West Side is his priority, and he believes in reigning in taxes and spending, making county government more efficient, supporting law enforcement, promoting civic education and engagement, and creating opportunities for youth.
