July 2026 Newsletter

Message from the Chairman:

As we turn from the primary election to the general election, we also celebrate an extraordinary milestone—America’s 250th anniversary. For two and a half centuries, our nation has stood as a beacon of liberty, self-government, and individual responsibility. Those founding principles remain as important today as they were in 1776, and they continue to guide the Republican Party here in Utah.

I want to thank every Republican who stepped forward to run for office this year. Campaigning is an act of service, and every candidate who entered the arena has strengthened our Party and our representative form of government.

Now it is time to unite and move forward. The general election is our opportunity to elect principled conservative leaders who will defend our Constitution, protect our freedoms, strengthen our families, and preserve the values that make Utah exceptional.

Every Republican has a role to play. Vote. Volunteer. Knock doors. Make phone calls. Talk with your neighbors. Invite others to get involved. Strong parties are built by engaged citizens, and victories are won by those willing to serve.

As we celebrate 250 years of American freedom, let us renew our commitment to the timeless principles that have made this nation great. While we celebrate the 4th and 24th of July, I hope that meaningful memories and reflections of those who have come before bring you strength.

From patriots to pioneers, our heritage in Utah is strong. Together, we will continue building a stronger Utah and a brighter future for those who come next.

Sincerely,

Robert Axson
Chairman, Utah Republican Party

Dallas 2026

Midterm Convention

The Republican National Committee has released plans for a historic midterm convention announced by President Trump. Scheduled for September 9–10, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, the event is being billed as the first midterm convention of its kind and a major moment for America’s 250th anniversary.

The convention will bring together Americans from across the country to celebrate policy achievements, promote a forward-looking vision, and spotlight themes tied to what organizers describe as a new “Golden Age” for the nation. Programming is expected to feature a wide range of voices—including workers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders—alongside entertainment and national celebration.

The event will emphasize economic growth, public safety, and national unity, while also serving as a platform to build momentum heading into the midterm election.

Interns

Invest in the Next Generation of Conservative Leaders

Our interns are the backbone of daily operations—supporting voter outreach, managing critical data, drafting communications and outreach materials, and ensuring events run seamlessly. As we move deeper into the 2026 election cycle, their contributions are more important than ever.

Historically, many internships in politics have been unpaid, forcing talented young conservatives to choose between financial stability and meaningful public service. The Utah GOP is actively working to change that.

Through the Intern Stipend Fund, we are removing financial barriers, expanding opportunities for dedicated students, and strengthening the pipeline of our party's future leaders. By offering competitive stipends, we can attract and retain the brightest minds while ensuring our team remains fully equipped to meet the demands of the campaign season.

Your support directly empowers the next generation of future campaign managers, policy experts, and elected officials, who will carry forward the work of advancing our shared principles.

Join us in investing in Utah’s future.

National Committeeman's Message:

Fellow Republicans,

One of my favorite things about this Independence Day is seeing just how deeply "America 250" has taken root across the country. Walk through almost any grocery store and you'll find shelves filled with red, white, and blue. Candy, crackers, drinks, desserts, and decorations all show a growing excitement for this historic celebration.

Even more encouraging is that patriotism feels like it is on the rise again. Across the country, Americans are proudly flying Old Glory, attending community celebrations, and taking time to reflect on the remarkable story of our nation. That spirit is worth preserving.

Years ago, my family and I spent the 4th of July in a small, rural town. We were visitors, yet they welcomed us with open arms. We were invited to their community breakfast and asked to join the crowd-lined streets for their Main Street parade. It opened my eyes to the best of America and deepened my love for our country. That patriotic spirit we felt has drawn us back nearly every year since.

Our nation's history, values, and traditions are not passed from one generation to the next by accident. They are shared through families, neighbors, and communities that make time to celebrate together. This year, I hope you'll spend part of your holiday at a local neighborhood celebration or in one of Utah's incredible small towns. There's something special about a hometown parade where children scramble for candy, veterans are recognized with grateful applause, and neighbors greet each other along Main Street.

These moments may seem simple, but they help strengthen the bonds that hold our communities - and our country - together. They remind us that patriotism is more than a feeling. It is something we live through service, gratitude, and participation.

As America begins its next 250 years, let's continue building strong families, advocate for conservative policies, and strengthen our communities. The best way to honor our nation's past is to invest in its future.

Happy Independence Day, friends!

Sincerely,

Brad Bonham

Help Us Welcome New Conservatives to Utah

Utah continues to attract new residents drawn by our strong economy, stunning landscapes, and commitment to freedom. However, many of these new movers, who share our principles, have not yet registered to vote.

That is why the Utah GOP is launching a targeted outreach initiative to connect with these new neighbors and help them get involved. Through direct mail, personalized text messages, phone calls from local volunteers, and follow-up emails, we’re making it easy for conservative newcomers to understand Utah’s voting process and register as Republicans.

This effort is about more than registration—it’s about building community, strengthening grassroots networks, and ensuring every voice is heard. By reaching new residents early, we can help them feel welcomed, informed, and empowered to participate in shaping Utah’s future.

Your support fuels this effort and helps ensure Utah remains a place where our shared values continue to thrive.
