We're just one day away from the upcoming Utah 2024 State Nominating Convention at the Salt Palace Convention Center this Saturday April 27, 2024! Here are a few final reminders as you prepare for this Saturday. Please review this email in its entirety so you are prepared for Saturday!

UTGOP 2024 State Nominating Convention Convention Day Overview7:00am Open Registration and Credentialing Convention registration begins at 7:00am at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Halls 3, inside the southwest corner of the Booth Expo. (Please see map below “Credentialing/Booth Expo.”) You will need a driver's license Photo ID, or other government-issued ID in order to obtain your credential. You must receive your credential in order to vote. 7:00am Booth Expo Opens We invite all delegates and guests to visit our 49 booths and get to know candidates and organizations who support the Utah Republican Party. Map available of all the Booth Exhibitors here. 8:00am-10:00am Break-Out Sessions for Multi-County Elections Find out if you are responsible for voting in one of the Break-out Session Elections by checking your address in the Precinct Portal. If you live in a district that has an election for Utah state House, Senate, or school board, we recommend you arrive no later than 7:30am. These Break-out Session elections will be held beginning at 8:00am in Rooms 255 (subrooms B, C, D, E, or F) and Room 355 (subrooms A, B, C, D, E, or F). (Please see map below where it says “Breakout Multi-county Elections”) 10:30am-6:00pm Convention General Session In the General Session, delegates will vote for state-wide races for Governor, Attorney General, Auditor, federal races including U.S. Senate, U.S. Congressional House races, and party races for national committeeman and committeewoman, national delegates and presidential electors. Delegates will also vote on Constitutional Amendments, Platform Amendments, and Resolutions. The General Session will be held in Hall 1 of the Salt Palace, (please see map below where it says “Main Convention”) Map of Salt Palace Please reference the attached map of Salt Palace (a printable pdf can be accessed here.) Entrances can be found off of 300 West, 200 South, West Temple and South Temple.

Elephant Club Breakfast
We'd like to invite delegates to become members of the Elephant Club in order to join our special Convention Breakfast Saturday morning at 6:30am at the Radisson Hotel 215 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84101, United States. A reception will begin at 6:30am with breakfast starting at 7am and ending at 8am. To learn more about how to become Elephant Club Members please click here. Breakout Session Elections - Multi-county RacesFind out if you are responsible for voting in one of the Break-out Session Elections by checking your address in the Precinct Portal. Under "Districts for this precinct" you will see which number is your Congressional District (e.g. 1, 2, 3, or 4), State Senate District (e.g. 21), State House District (e.g. 53), and State School Board District (e.g. 12). Once you know all your voting districts, you can check this schedule for all the Multi-county Breakout Elections to see which elections you need to vote in: 1) Find your VOTING DISTRICTS listed by RACE 2) See the CANDIDATES in those races 3) Note the TIME for each of your multi-county elections 4) Note the room number LOCATION Not all delegates will have breakout session elections before the main session of the convention, and if you don't have any, you are welcome to arrive anytime before 10am. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before any breakout elections so you have time to credential in Hall 3 and then walk over to the Breakout Rooms in 255 and 355. Reminder: Election room assignments are subject to change; be sure to double-check the day of convention. Parking and TransportationParking The Salt Palace has two attached parking garages. Parking rates vary, but daily rates typically do not exceed $20 per vehicle. These lots do not offer come-and-go privileges. Drivers will need to pay upon exit.
UTA To avoid parking, delegates may take the UTA train or other public transit options. To learn about UTA train service from outlying cities to the Salt Palace please visit this link. Delegates traveling from near downtown can also take the TRAX Light Rail or UTA Bus. There are two stops one-half block from the convention center, Arena Station and Temple Square station. VotingDelegates will be voting through electronic ballots using the Election Buddy System. Delegates should bring their phones (smartphones), tables, or laptop computers with them as well as chargers and battery packs. Voting kiosks will be available for those who do not bring their own device. To learn more about why the Convention Committee selected the Election Buddy System, please read the full analysis here.
