Dear Presidential Candidates,
Let me first express my support and gratitude to each of you for pursuing the nomination of the Republican Party. In doing so, you have positioned yourself to help advocate for the principles of our Party, our Constitution, and of America’s founding.
I encourage you to continue to do all you can to fight for the future of our country—a future we all know is more secure with the conservative liberty minded beliefs we as Republicans share. We are a Party focused on unlimited potential of people and a limited role of government; the inverse will never be true!
As you and your teams have heard from me, the Utah Republican Party is committed to a fair process and election. You are invited and encouraged to engage with Utahns and visit our state in the lead up to our Caucus and thereafter. I assure you that as you do so, you will find support, ideas, and enthusiasm which will reward your efforts. The relationships you can make here in Utah will be of lasting benefit to all of our shared vision of Republican success.
Please let me know if I may be of help to you or your teams in the lead up to the Utah Caucus on March 5th and State Convention on April 27th.
Thank you again for all you are doing to advance our values and to ensure that next year’s election replaces the current disastrous administration.
Your friend,
Robert Axson
Chairman, Utah Republican Party
Filing Details
All presidential candidates must file a declaration of candidacy with the Utah Republican Party before 5pm MT on December 15, 2023. The filing fee is $50,000 and must be paid by the candidate’s campaign with the following exceptions:
- If the candidate files prior to 5pm MT on November 15, 2023, a fee reduction of $10,000 will be granted to the paying entity.
- If the candidate conducts a public event in partnership with the Utah Republican Party and/or a fundraiser to benefit the Utah Republican Party, a refund of $10,000 ($17,500 if conducting both) will be granted upon completion of the event(s).
- If the fee is paid—in all or in part—by bundled donors associated with and coordinated on behalf of the candidate, or by a PAC, a 10% ($5,000) assessment will be added on top of the filing fee, regardless of when you file. Per Federal Election Commission (FEC) rules, refunds for coordinated events will not be available if you choose to pay by bundled donors or a PAC. If a coordinated event is held, a donation by the Utah Republican Party will be made instead up to FEC limits.
The party will publish this information and any other requirements and necessary additional information on the party’s website (https://utgop.org) and send it directly to the presidential campaigns. All forms shall be submitted electronically to the State Party Secretary at [email protected]. The party will accept payment via direct wire or ACH transfer. Questions regarding payment should be directed to the State Party Treasurer at [email protected] and copy [email protected] and [email protected]. Please keep in mind that any refunds must comply with FEC rules. Please reach out to us with any questions.
