WHEREAS in November 2024, President Donald Trump received more than 77,000,000 votes, won the popular vote, and secured 312 electoral votes, becoming the 47th President of the United States of America.

WHEREAS President Trump overwhelmingly won the state of Utah winning nearly 60% of the vote to Kamala Harris’ nearly 38%.

WHEREAS a President deserves to assemble a team and have that team confirmed by the United States Senate to carry out the policies that reflect the will of the American people.

WHEREAS Republicans have a 53 seat majority in the United States Senate.

WHEREAS President Trump has been pressuring Senators to move quickly as Democrats have blocked more nominees than usual this year, denying any unanimous consent votes and forcing roll call votes on each one, a lengthy process that can take several days per nominee.

WHEREAS this is the first time in recent history that the minority party hasn't allowed at least some quick unanimous consent confirmations and the Majority Leader has already kept the Senate in session for more days, and with longer hours, this year to try and confirm as many of Trump's nominees as possible.

WHEREAS there are only 14 months until the Midterm Elections and Republicans must act quickly to implement President Trump’s agenda.

THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED that the Utah Republican Party encourages Republicans in the United States Senate to use every legal tool and procedure necessary to overcome Democrat obstructionism to confirm President Trump’s nominees.
