What elections do state delegates vote in?

In even years state delegates vote at the Utah Republican Nominating Convention, where they help nominate Republican candidates for offices such as:

  • U.S. Senate
  • U.S. House of Representatives
  • Governor
  • Attorney General
  • State Treasurer
  • State Auditor
  • Multi-county State Senate races
  • Multi-county State House races
  • Multi-county State School Board races

Delegates may also be called to participate in special nominating conventions if an elected Republican vacates their office before the end of their term.


In odd years state delegates vote at the Utah Republican Organizing Convention, where they help elect Republican candidates for offices such as:

  • State Party Chair
  • State Party Vice Chair
  • State Party Secretary
  • State Party Treasurer

Delegates will also have the opportunity to vote on State Party Constitution amendments, By-law changes, Platform updates at each convention
