This year's Organizing Convention is dedicated to electing the party officers of the Utah Republican Party. As a state delegate, you will be responsible for voting for the Chair and Secretary; because the candidates for Vice Chair and Treasurer were uncontested, they will each receive a vote by acclamation at the convention but no voting on ballots will be necessary. The victorious individuals will guide the UTGOP through the next election cycle, oversee internal operations, and carry out the mission and priorities of the Party.

In addition to electing our party officers, delegates will be asked to vote on proposed constitution amendments, resolutions, bylaw amendments, and platform amendments; these are all linked on the agenda for your review. These items directly influence how our Party functions and are essential to maintaining a clear, organized, and principled structure. We encourage you to review all candidate materials and proposed business in advance so you can participate fully at the convention.

In the final two weeks before convention, party officer candidates may contact you through your provided contact information. We hope you'll visit with them, attend events, and explore their candidate websites. These resources will help you make informed decisions about who you believe is best suited to lead our party forward.

If you are unable to attend the convention on May 17th, you must contact your precinct chair or county party leadership immediately to arrange an alternate delegate to vote in your place. The deadline to submit any delegate changes is Friday, May 9th, at 5:00 p.m. This ensures that every precinct has full representation and that your community continues to have a voice in the Party's leadership and structure.

We look forward to seeing you at the UCCU Center on May 17th. Don't miss the Parking & Transportation Guide provided at the end of this email. Thank you for your dedication, leadership, and continued commitment to the Utah Republican Party.

Convention Agenda

As you look over this year's convention agenda, we'd like to point out the addition of "Leadership Panels" in place of all of the elected official speeches we would normally hear after the party officer elections. We will have three separate, moderated leadership panels designed to educate and celebrate the excellent work that our elected officials are accomplishing for us at the federal and state levels of government. Sometimes it feels like we’re only accomplishing the basic needs of the party at convention- the elections and the party business- but this year we hope you leave feeling edified and informed on the pressing work being done for you.

Send any questions you'd like to offer the moderators of those leadership panels to [email protected].

Agenda

Registration Required for Non-Delegates

We have worked closely with the county Republican parties throughout Utah to create the official delegate list for convention, and each delegate will receive a credential to qualify them to vote and participate at convention. This year we are also requiring that non-delegate guests register so that we are able to adequately account for them in our convention seating and plans. Non-delegate registration supports our goal to provide better security and safety for our Republican party members in attendance. Any non-delegate guests (friends or family members of delegates or elected officials), booth workers, volunteers, media guests, etc. must register in order to attend convention this year. You may click the button below to register or send the following link to anyone who may still need to register. Please register no later than May 7th.

Learn About the Candidates

Candidate information is now available on the official Convention Page, which includes website and social media links, upcoming campaign events, and contact information shared by the candidates.

Leadership Candidates

We encourage you to explore these materials and engage with the candidates before May 17. Many of them will be reaching out to you directly by phone, text, or email using the contact information you've provided to the Party. You're also encouraged to attend local cottage meetings, town halls, or campaign events to help you make informed decisions.

Booth Space Available – Nonprofits, Advocacy Groups & Vendors

We have a few booths still available for candidates, elected officials, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, and vendors. These booths offer a great opportunity to connect with delegates and share your mission or message. If you or your organization are interested in participating, please submit a request using the form below:

Delegate Agreement Standards

As a state delegate, you are expected to remain engaged and informed throughout your term. Please ensure that your contact information—email, phone number, and home address—is accurate and updated with your precinct chair so that you continue receiving important communications from the Party and candidates. You should check your messages regularly and review all materials sent to you in preparation for the convention.

Delegates are asked to attend official events leading up to the convention, whether in person or virtually, and to take time to review all candidate information and proposed business items. We ask that you come prepared to vote and to represent your precinct responsibly.

If you are unable to attend the convention, it is your duty to contact your precinct chair as soon as possible so that an alternate may be appointed. Alternate delegate submissions must be received no later than Friday, May 9 at 5:00 p.m.

We hope you'll also take the opportunity to engage your neighbors, hold discussions on the issues, and foster respectful dialogue within your community. Building relationships with other delegates and elected leaders only strengthens our shared efforts.
